Generator testing
Generators are used in a wide variety of applications from data centres to healthcare. Their operation is critical as a backup power source, often required at the most crucial of moments. Ensuring that they are working and proving their power output is essential to all businesses who require one. This can be achieved through regular testing using a load bank.
Battery discharge testing
A simple discharge test through a load bank is easy to carry out and will give unambiguous evidence of the battery’s condition and whether it needs to be replaced.
Ballast load
In some cases there is a benefit to using a load bank as a ballast load during normal operation of the generating set. In those applications where the connected load may vary over a wide range, either as a result of seasonal variations or the nature of the load itself, when the 'real' demand is small it can be beneficial to add some additional load to keep the engine operating at least at 20% to 40% of its capacity.
